Who Am I? An Art Educator and Curator

About me

Who am I?
I am an art educator and curator of contemporary art exhibitions, working between art and awareness.

For me, educating through art means first of all choosing to remain deeply human: attentive, contemplative, and open to evolution. Meditation, interpretation, silence – or, conversely, open and non-judgmental dialogue in front of images – have always been my way of life.

Likewise, choosing to curate an artist’s exhibition, for me, means walking alongside them: listening to their words, pausing in front of their works, meditating on their inner imagery and allowing my creative thinking to intertwine with theirs, to accompany them and help them recognize the potential not only of their work, but also of their inner world, so that they may offer – and offer themselves – more and more fully.

For many years I have been studying the human soul and its capacity for transformation, purely out of passion. I love art, artists and gardeners, and all those who make their creativity flourish in order to share it with others. I listen with the same care to those who are already aware of it and to those who still struggle to express it, but reveal it in the way they look at a work of art, at a garden, or in their desire to create them.

Thanks to my training in literature, art, art therapy, philosophy, psychology, pedagogy, lifelong education, cinema, theatre and holistic practices, I have developed a method of interpreting art that I have been cultivating since 2009, when I designed my first paideic projects in museums (“A prova di sbadiglio” and “Oltre i confini: Vedere”), dedicated to children, teenagers, adults and families.

I have consciously chosen the word “education” in its Greek and lifelong sense, integrating elements of art therapy, theatre therapy and the Theatre of the Oppressed, to help those who wish to dissolve inner blocks, judgments and performance anxiety.

Since 1994 I have worked as a cultural tour guide for individual visitors and families in Italian, English and French, in the museums of Rome and the Vatican, also collaborating with congress organizations and multinational companies such as Pfizer, Goodyear, Wartsila, Fincantieri, Alitalia and many others.

In 2011 I signed a contract with the Governorate and the Vatican Gardens for a project of reinterpretation of the Gardens and for the research that later resulted in a volume published in 2017.

In recent years I have also been curating exhibitions of contemporary artists with whom I feel a deep resonance, in Rome and in other Italian contexts, following exhibition projects, critical texts and performative moments between video art, sculpture, painting and conceptual and spiritual research. In parallel, I continue to offer meetings, seminars and workshops in art education – between art and awareness, using my Method of Interpretation – both online and in person.

At the foundation of my path lie linguistic and humanities studies (Scuola Superiore per Interpreti e Traduttori in Florence, and a degree from IULM in Milan with a final thesis in art history) and over thirty years of experience in museums, further enriched by courses in screenwriting, documentary filmmaking, art therapy, theatre therapy and the Theatre of the Oppressed.

All of this has refined in me deep introspective, relational and listening skills, which I place at the service of those who wish to encounter art, embark on an artistic path, or be accompanied as emerging or still little-known artists, following my Method of Interpretation.
